Your memories stay yours

Privacy Policy

HomeMovieCam is built for personal memories, not profiles, feeds, advertising, or analytics.

Effective July 24, 2026

HomeMovieCam does not require an account, does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not upload your videos to developer-operated servers.

Who this policy covers

This policy describes the HomeMovieCam iPhone app, Apple Watch companion, and this website, developed by KRFFL. It explains the information these products use and the choices available to you.

Camera and microphone

HomeMovieCam requests camera access to show the live viewfinder and record video. It requests microphone access to include sound in your recordings. Camera frames and microphone audio are processed on your device to create camcorder-style videos. KRFFL does not receive this media.

You can revoke camera or microphone permission at any time in the iOS Settings app. Without those permissions, the related recording features will not work.

Local tape library

The tape shelf, tape names, cover choices, scene metadata, thumbnails, settings, pending save information, and app-owned video copies are stored in HomeMovieCam’s local app container on your device. This library does not require a HomeMovieCam account or KRFFL cloud service.

You can delete scenes and tapes inside HomeMovieCam. Deleting a scene or tape removes the corresponding app-owned local media. Deleting the app removes its local container subject to normal iOS behavior. Device and iCloud backups, if enabled, are controlled by your Apple settings and governed by Apple’s policies.

Photos

If Photos Sync is enabled and you grant permission, HomeMovieCam can add a finished copy of a recording to your Photos library. Photos Sync is optional and can be disabled in HomeMovieCam Settings.

Photos is a separate copy destination, not the backend for the tape shelf. Deleting a tape or scene inside HomeMovieCam does not delete a copy already saved to Photos. Manage that copy in the Photos app.

Apple Watch communication

The Apple Watch app exchanges recording commands and status information with the paired iPhone using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. The iPhone remains responsible for camera access, recording, and saving. KRFFL does not operate a server for these Watch commands.

HomeMovieCam Pro purchases

HomeMovieCam Pro is offered through Apple’s StoreKit system. Apple processes the transaction. HomeMovieCam receives entitlement information needed to unlock Pro and may cache a confirmed entitlement locally so it remains available offline. KRFFL does not receive your full payment-card details through the app.

Diagnostics

HomeMovieCam may create local operating-system diagnostic messages about camera, rendering, and export behavior. The app does not contain a third-party analytics or crash-reporting service that automatically sends those logs to KRFFL. If you choose to contact support, you control what diagnostic information or screenshots you share.

Website and social links

This static website has no account system, contact form, advertising, or analytics script. If you follow a link to Apple, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook, that service’s privacy policy applies to your use of its site or app.
